Everything else in the room gets turned off when we leave for the day, especially anything that can burn-in (like monitors). None of the BMD display adapters, including the UltraStudio 4K and UltraStudio 4K Extreme, have a switch to turn them off in the rack. The cost of the switch is another factor (albeit a small one). Some believe it's better just to leave the thing on all the time rather than subject it to constant on/off cycles. There are engineers who lobby for "no power switches" because the power-up mode can be a potential cause for failure when the device eventually goes. Marc Wielage wrote:I understand the design philosophy. What am I missing? Surely it can't be this much of a silly oversight? Please, please tell me it has some sort of key combo to switch it off? Off - not low power mode.

So much for keeping a clean workspace and looking after the product. When I'm done I must ensure I keep it plugged in to avoid it draining on it's own and damaging the battery. My Type C cables are too SHORT to use while charging.Ģ. So now when I want to use it I have to let it charge first - waste of time.

We often have clients laptop batteries getting ruined when they allow their laptops to run flat in "sleep mode".ġ. Going to "sleep" is one thing but even in a low power mode it will drain. It should have a physical Off / On switch.By not being able to switch it off means my battery will constantly drain to zero and ruin this battery's lifespan. This is in my opinion one of the silliest implementations I have never come across this in any wireless product. So I haven't used the editor in a couple weeks, been busy, and I get it out of storage only to find the battery dead - like when it arrived new.
